1.1 Scope. 1.1.1 This standard shall apply to the design, installation, commissioning, operation, and ongoing periodic testing of dedicated and nondedicated smoke-control systems. 1.1.2 Design, use and operation of the systems covered by this standard apply to: (a) Compartmentalized structures and buildings. (b) Large volume, open spaces and non- compartmentalized structures and buildings. (c) Systems involving pressurization, exhaust, accumulation of smoke in large volume, open spaces or any combination thereof.
