- This standard specifies laboratory test methods for treating brake linings in an environment of accelerated corrosion and for evaluating the bond strength formed by corrosion. In order to compare the properties of the linings, the material and surface condition of the ferrous-metal mating surfaces were kept fixed to maintain the repeatability of the test. This standard applies to drum brake linings and disc brake linings used on road vehicle brakes. Whether it is new or used, it can be tested according to this standard.
