Scope

This standard specifies the general principles for the acoustic emission testing of structures, components and different materials under stress. This standard provides guidelines for the formulation of acoustic emission testing standards or written work instructions for specific products, equipment, and materials. Unless otherwise specified, the content of this standard is the minimum requirement.
