This Recommendation specifies both the functional components and the methodology that should be used in order to specify Transport MPLS layer network functionality of network elements; it does not specify individual Transport MPLS network equipment as such. This Recommendation forms part of a suite of Recommendations covering the full functionality of network equipment. These Recommendations are ITU-T Recs G.806 (Conventions and Generic Equipment Functions), G.798 (OTN functions), G.783 (SDH functions), G.705 (PDH functions), G.781 (Synchronization functions), I.732 (ATM functions), G.8021/Y.1341 (ETH functions), G.7710/Y.1701, G.784 and G.874 (Management functions). This Recommendation also follows the principles defined in ITU-T Rec. G.805.
