This specification covers a corrosion and moderate heat resistant steel in the form of investment castings. These castings have been used typically for small parts, such as compressor blades and vanes, for use up to 1000 °F (538 °C), but usage is not limited to such applications. Corrosion resistance is higher than that of AMS 5349, but machinability is worse.
