Scope
According to the characteristics of γ-ray panoramic exposure of steel spherical storage tanks, this standard is formulated to ensure the inspection quality of spherical tanks. This standard is applicable to spherical tanks with a nominal thickness of 10 mm to 100 mm, a nominal volume of 50 m3 to 10000 m3, and materials made of carbon steel, low alloy steel, and stainless steel, butt joint welds of spherical tanks, which are fusion welded butt joints, for γ-ray panoramic exposure. On-site inspection and weld quality assessment; not applicable to spherical tanks affected by nuclear radiation, non-fixed spherical tanks, expanded spherical tanks and spherical tanks with double-shell structure. The technical level of gamma ray testing in this standard should not be lower than the AB level in the current industry standard "Nondestructive Testing of Pressure Equipment Part 2: Radiographic Testing" JB/T 4730.2-2005. The gamma-ray panoramic exposure inspection of spherical storage tanks shall not only comply with the provisions of this standard, but also comply with the relevant current national standards.
