Scope

This standard is applicable to the labels of prepackaged foods directly provided to consumers and the labels of prepackaged foods not directly provided to consumers. This standard does not apply to food storage and transportation packaging labels that provide protection for prepackaged foods during storage and transportation, labeling of bulk foods and freshly prepared and sold foods.
