This part of GB 11291 specifies the requirements and guidelines for the basic safety design, protective measures and use information of industrial robots (defined in Chapter 3). Describes the basic hazards related to industrial robots, and puts forward the requirements to eliminate or sufficiently reduce these hazards. Noise as a potential hazard is not covered in this section, but is included in Part 2 of GB 11291. This part of GB 11291 applies to industrial robots. Although the safety principles established in the "Safety Requirements for Robots in Industrial Environments" may be used by other types of robots, this section does not apply to non-industrial robots. Examples of non-industrial robots include (but are not limited to): underwater, military and space robots, remote-controlled manipulators, prosthetics and other assistive devices for the physically disabled, micro-robots (displacement range <1mm), surgical or rehabilitation robots, and service and consumer robots.
