- This standard specifies general principles for the microfilming of print periodicals for preservation and distribution in libraries and other document services. It includes requirements for marking plates to ensure proper documentation and to ensure that microforms comply with relevant standards for archival microfilming. This standard applies to silver-gelatin microforms in 16mm or 35mm rolls, strips and flat A6 format, including first-generation microforms, intermediate films and distribution copies.
