- This standard specifies a method for determining the operating performance of greases in specially manufactured, spring-loaded automotive wheel bearing assemblies under low temperature conditions. The torque value calculated from the measured resis ance is used as an indicator of the grease vis osity resis ance. This standard is suitable for measuring greases with a torque value less than 35N·m at -40°C. This standard uses International System of Units [SI] units. This standard covers certain hazardous materials, operations and equipment, but does not provide recommendations on all safety is ues related thereto. Therefore, users should establis appropriate safety and protective measures and determine the applicability of relevant regulatory limitations before using this standard.
