Scope

This standard specifies the emission limits and measurement methods of exhaust pollutants, crankcase pollutants and evaporative pollutants at room temperature and low temperature for light vehicles equipped with ignition engines, the durability requirements of pollution control devices, and on-board diagnostics (OBD). ) system technical requirements and measurement methods, as well as the measurement method of dual idle speed. This standard specifies the emission limits and measurement methods of exhaust pollutants at room temperature for light vehicles equipped with compression ignition engines, the durability requirements of pollution control devices, and the technical requirements and measurement methods of on-board diagnostic (OBD) systems. This standard also stipulates the requirements for the type approval of light vehicles, the inspection and judgment methods for the consistency of production and the conformity of vehicles in use. This standard also stipulates special requirements for light vehicles fueled with LPG or NG. This standard also specifies the type approval requirements for pollutant emissions of alternative catalytic converters intended to be installed on light-duty vehicles as an independent technical assembly. This standard applies to light-duty vehicles powered by ignition engines or compression ignition engines and whose maximum design speed is greater than or equal to 50 km/h. This standard does not apply to N₁ category vehicles that have been type-approved in accordance with GB 17691 (Stage III or Stage IV).
