- This standard applies to implantable bone filling and bone augmentation materials in oral and maxillofacial surgery, including absorbable and non-absorbable types. This standard does not include products whose main composition is pure hydroxyapatite (>90%). This standard covers the evaluation of the physicochemical, mechanical, biological and clinical properties and performance of these implantable oral materials. This standard excludes products primarily intended for use in autografts, allografts, and membrane materials, and products primarily intended for drug release.
