This standard is applicable to guide the selection, storage and handling of (bonding) substrates and gives the essence of various test methods for testing the quality of the bond between oral restorative materials and tooth structure (i.e. enamel and dentin) feature. This standard details two tests for measuring bond strength, a test for measuring the edge gap around the filling and a test for microleakage. It also proposes specific test methods for measuring bond strength.
