- This standard specifies the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method for the determination of five alkaloids in tobacco and tobacco products, including nicotine, nornicotine, neonicotine, mesmin and pseudoequisetine. This standard is applicable to the determination of five alkaloids (nicotine, nornicotine, neonicotinoid, mesmin and pseudoequisetine) in tobacco and tobacco products. The quantitative limits of this method for the determination of nicotine, nornicotine, neonicotine, maximine and pseudoequisetine in tobacco and tobacco products are 46.8ug/g, 7.6ug/g, 0.5ug/g and 5.1ug/g respectively. , 7.9ug/g, the detection limits are 14.1ug/g, 2.3ug/g, 0.2ug/g, 1.5ug/g, 2.4ug/g respectively.
