- This part of YD/T 1588 specifies the measurement methods, measurement systems, measurement procedures, calculations and results of optical cable link dispersion (dispersion, also known as wavelength dispersion or chromatic dispersion) in engineering. This standard is applicable to the measurement of link dispersion of silica-based single-mode optical fiber cables, that is, optical transmission links composed of Class B optical fibers specified in GB/T 15972.10-2008. They can be optical cable lines that have been laid for interconnection, or they can be optical paths between optical communication transceiver devices. Or part of it, the link can contain other optical components, such as optical amplifiers, dispersion compensation modules, etc.
