Scope
This part specifies the transmission convergence (TC) layer protocol, core functions, frame structure, interaction message definition, activation method, alarm, security and error control requirements of the Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) system. This section is applicable to GPON equipment in a public telecommunications network environment where the transmission convergence (TC) layer adopts GEM mode. Private telecommunications networks can also be used as a reference.
