Scope
The Standard specifies the requirements for steel shop fabricated cylindrical tanks, single and double skin for the aboveground storage of water polluting liquids with a maxmum density of 1,9 kg/l. The standard is applicable for normal ambient temperature conditions (-20 ?to +50 ?. Where temperatures are outside this range, additional requirements need to be taken into account. The standard does not cover the installation of tanks. As far as the aboveground storage of fuel intended for the supply of building heating/cooling systems and of water not intended for human consumption is concerned, the standard takes into account a corresponding mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association and supports essential requirements of Construction Products Directive.
