Warning: Toluene is toxic, perchloric acid and potassium bromate-potassium bromide solution are corrosive. The mixture of perchloric acid and organic matter may explode when heated. The operation must be carried out in a fume hood, and the operator must be careful. This standard specifies the phosphomolybdenum blue spectrophotometric method for the determination of elemental phosphorus in water. This standard is applicable to the determination of elemental phosphorus in surface water, groundwater, industrial wastewater and domestic sewage.
