Scope

The ITU Radiocommunication Assembly considering a)that an increasing number of broadcasters now need to tailor their television programme material to a variety of broadcasting applications at a variety of image quality levels and sizings;b)that the treatment to be applied to the original programme signal in order to adapt it to a variety of broadcasting applications at a variety of image quality levels and sizings depends on the image resolution that those applications are able to provide to the end user, and on their viewing environment.
