- This standard specifies the terms and definitions, models and basic parameters, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation and storage of down-the-hole hammers and down-the-hole drill bits. This standard applies to down-the-hole impactors and down-the-hole drill bits powered by compressed air or a mixture of compressed air and water. Impactors and drill bits are used as drilling tools for down-the-hole drilling rigs for drilling blast holes and deep holes for various purposes in various mines and other construction projects.
