Scope
This part specifies the requirements for manufacturing, chemical composition, mechanical properties, sampling and acceptance of 20, 16Mn and 15MnNi carbon steel and low alloy steel forgings. This section applies to carbon steel and low alloy steel forgings for Level 1, 2, and 3 equipment in pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants. This section does not apply to heat exchanger tube sheets and auxiliary pump shaft forgings, nor to forgings for main steam systems, main feed water flow control systems, auxiliary water supply systems and turbine bypass systems.
