Scope

This Recommendation describes the methodology for obtaining equipment degradation factors (Ie) using instrumental models. The degradation factors derived by this methodology are used in the E model (see ITU-T Rec. G.107). This methodology should be considered complementary to that based on listening only tests described in ITU-T Rec. P.833. Provides valid Ies values only for those codecs for which the instrumental model produces valid estimates.
