Scope

This Recommendation describes the method for evaluating equipment degradation factors (Ie) using instrumental models. The equipment degradation factors obtained by this method are intended for use in Model E (see ITU-T Rec. G.107). It should be considered complementary to the method based on listening-only hearing degradation tests described in Rec. ITU-T P.833. It will only provide valid values for codecs for which the instrumental model used produces significant estimates.
