Scope
WARNING: This standard contains technical requirements for deicing and anti-icing fluid materials, but this standard does not address the mixing compatibility of different types of deicing and anti-icing fluids during operation. The mixing of different types of deicing and anti-icing fluids may cause adverse effects. Users should be familiar with the safe and correct use of deicing and anti-icing fluids. The raw materials, methods or operating procedures mentioned in this standard may involve the use of hazardous materials, but this standard does not specify these possible hazards. It is the user's responsibility to understand and master the correct method, and to take necessary precautions to ensure the health and safety of all involved. The components of some deicing and anti-icing fluids may be slightly toxic, and direct contact with human skin and eyes should be avoided. Operators should avoid prolonged exposure to high concentrations of product vapors. This standard specifies the general requirements, technical requirements, test methods, quality assurance clauses, packaging, signs, product manuals and storage requirements for airport pavement deicing and anti-icing fluids. This standard applies to liquid airport pavement deicing and anti-icing products, but not to aircraft deicing and anti-icing products.
