This standard specifies that water meters and hot water meters used for trade or certification in Japan measure the volume of cold water at 30°C or lower flowing through pipes that can withstand a maximum allowable working pressure of at least I MPa. This standard specifies water meters and hot water meters that measure the volume of clean hot water below 90°C flowing through pipes (hereinafter simply referred to as "meters" in the provisions common to both in this standard).
