Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for safety, performance, testing, and labeling of ethylene oxide gas sterilizers (hereinafter referred to as sterilizers) used to sterilize medical devices (objects to be sterilized). Sterilizers covered by this standard shall have containers that meet the national pressure vessel regulations (1) if they fall under pressure vessels.
