- This standard specifies the test method for stretching metal pipe ring specimens until they break, so that surface and internal defects of metal pipe ring specimens are exposed. This standard can also be used to assess the ductility of metal pipes. This standard applies to metal pipes with an outer diameter greater than 150mm, a pipe wall thickness not greater than 40mm and an inner diameter greater than 100mm.
