Scope: This standard specifies the classification, basic parameters, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation and storage of mechanical balances. This standard applies to mechanical balances (hereinafter referred to as balances) that use the principle of leverage to determine the mass of substances. This standard does not apply to vacuum balances, thermal balances, remote control balances, automatic recording balances and top dish balances and balances manufactured by agreement.
