Scope
This part specifies the chemical composition, mechanical properties, test methods, inspection rules, external dimensions, weight and other technical requirements for grade 2 and 3 20, 16Mn carbon steel and low alloy steel seamless steel pipes for pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants. This section applies to grade 2 carbon steel and low alloy steel seamless steel pipes with a nominal outer diameter less than 550 mm and a nominal wall thickness less than 50 mm in pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants, as well as with a nominal outer diameter not greater than 610 mm and a nominal wall thickness not greater than 40 mm grade 3 carbon steel seamless steel pipe. This section does not apply to seamless steel pipes used in the main feed water flow control system, auxiliary water supply system, turbine bypass system and main steam system in pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants. This section also does not apply to heat exchanger heat transfer tubes.
