Scope

CUG is a group of subscribers who may be members of one or more public networks; each ISDN member of a CUG is identified by an ISDN number. The closed user group (CUG) supplementary service allows a group of users to communicate with each other; where applicable, one or more users may have incoming/outgoing access allowing them to communicate with users outside the group.
