This standard specifies the requirements for sensors, VDR interface consistency, installation requirements for the main unit and capsule, and playback requirements when adopting and equipping a Voyage Data Recorder (hereinafter referred to as VDR). IMO Resolution A.861 (20) and IEC 61996 provide for the purpose of facilitating technical meetings between suppliers and users of VDRs, manufacturers of signal source equipment, and other related parties. Specifies the specifications for input/output data of target signals or standard specifications for installation. It also standardizes the format of specific meeting items as a guideline. Please note that this standard is not intended to standardize the performance and functions of the VDR itself.
