JIS C 0452-1:2004 Industrial systems, installations and equipment and industrial products -- Structuring principles and reference designations -- Part 1: Basic rules
This International Standard specifies general principles that describe the structure of information about a system and the structure of the system itself. Based on these principles, it provides principles and guidelines that provide clear "reference designations" to "objects" in any system. Reference designation allows information on a particular "object" to be structurally related and identified among different types of documents and different products. For installation and maintenance purposes, this reference designation itself may be displayed on or near the physical object corresponding to the object in question. Reference: A "system" includes a plant, which is a collection of complex products, and a CPU (central processing unit), which is a component-based "product." See 3.1 for a description of objects. The established principles are general and applicable to all technical fields. This reference system can also be applied to other target systems based on different technologies or to systems that combine multiple technologies.
