Administrations may replace the periodical measurements specified in Recommendations M.610 and M.620 by measurements using sampling methods. They will need to arrange their own programme for these on a bilateral basis. Administrations applying such methods are requested to report their conclusions to the CCITT giving their comments on: the method used (for information, some methods are described in [1]; the saving in manpower; the transference of work from field staff to administrative offices.
