Administrations may replace the periodical measurements specified in Recommendations M.610 and M.620 by measurements using sampling methods. They will need to arrange their own programme for these on a bilateral basis.Administrations applying such methods are requested to report their conclusions to the CCITT giving their comments on:– the method used (for information, some methods are described in [1];– the saving in manpower;– the transference of work from field staff to administrative offices;– any observed change in the quality of groups of circuits maintained by sampling methods.
