This standard specifies general procedures for the preparation, measurement, marking, storage and conditioning of rubber specimens for use in other standard physical tests, as well as the preferred conditions for use in the test procedures. It does not include specific conditions for special testing or materials or simulating special climatic environments, nor does it include special requirements for product testing. This standard also specifies the time interval required from manufacture to testing of rubber samples and products. These requirements are necessary to improve the reproducibility of test results and reduce disputes between consumers and suppliers.
