This guiding technical document specifies the operating conditions, ratings, design and structure, test, selection guidelines, transportation, storage, installation, operation and maintenance of 1100 kV gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear. This guiding technical document is applicable to single-pole enclosed SF 6 gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear installed outdoors at 1100 kV with a frequency of 50 Hz. In order to facilitate the use of this guidance technical document, the terms "GIS" and "switchgear" are used to describe "gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear". The gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear covered by this Guidance Technical Document consists of individual components which can be connected directly together and which can only be operated in this way. As needed, this guiding technical document completes and supplements the relevant standards of each independent component that constitutes GIS.
