Scope: This standard is one of a series of standards based on GB 9706.1-2007. In GB 9706.1-2007 (General Standard), such standards are called "Particular Standards". According to GB 9706.1-2007 1.3, the requirements in this standard take precedence over the requirements in GB 9706.1-2007. Except for the following parts replacing 1.1, Chapter 1 of GB 9706.1-2007 applies. This standard specifies the safety requirements for continuous flow oxygen concentrators (see 1.3.8 of this standard). This standard does not apply to oxygen concentrators that supply gas to several patients through a piped medical gas installation, nor does it apply to oxygen concentrators used in the presence of flammable anesthetic gases and/or cleaning agents. The scope of this standard is not limited to membrane oxygen concentrators and pressure swing adsorption oxygen concentrators (see "Introduction"), as other methods of concentrating oxygen may arise, and this standard should not limit future developments.
