This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and marking, order content, size, shape and allowable deviation, technical requirements, inspection items, requirements and methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality certificates for the manufacture of cold-drawn carbon spring steel wire . This standard applies to the manufacture of circular cold-drawn carbon spring steel wires (hereinafter referred to as steel wires) for static and dynamic load application mechanical springs, and is not applicable to the manufacture of steel wires for springs with high fatigue strength (such as valve springs).
