This standard specifies the terms and definitions, ordering content, classification and grade, size, shape and allowable deviation, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, signs and quality certificates of stainless steel wire. This standard applies to stainless steel wire (hereinafter referred to as steel wire), but does not include austenitic and precipitation hardening stainless spring steel wire, stainless steel wire for cold upset forging and welding.
