Scope

This part of GB/T 18380 specifies the method for vertical flame spread test of a single insulated thin wire, cable or thin optical cable under flame conditions. Test equipment is specified in GB/T 18380.21 2008. When the test method specified in GB/T 18380.12 2008 is not applicable, such as a thin optical cable that may break during the test fire supply or a thin wire whose conductor may fuse. This standard recommends testing thin optical cables with a total cross-section less than O. 5mm. Used when insulating thin wires and cables. Note: The use of insulated wire and cable complying with this standard is not sufficient to prevent the spread of flame under all laying conditions. In some highly dangerous situations, such as when bundled wires are laid vertically over a long length, one sample cannot be considered to meet the performance requirements of the vehicle standard, and the bundled wires will also show the same performance (see GB, T 18380 3l~36 series standards).
