This part of this document specifies the minimum requirements for safety and performance of firefighting and rescue service vehicles as designated in EN 1846-1. Categories and mass classes of these vehicles are given in EN 1846-1. Firefighting and rescue service vehicles normally use a commercial chassis-cab or vehicle. A special chassis may be used for specialised vehicles to meet particular requirements.
