- This standard specifies the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) method for the determination of paraffinic hydrocarbons in beeswax. This standard applies to the determination of paraffinic hydrocarbons in Chinese beeswax (Apis cerana) (hereinafter referred to as Chinese beeswax) and Italian beeswax (Apis mellifera ligustica) (hereinafter referred to as Italian beeswax). This standard has a discrimination limit of 10% for paraffinic hydrocarbons in beeswax.
