This standard is applicable to manual indexing by manual retrieval tools, computer retrieval systems, and literature and information reporting tools, that is, the indexing staff conducts literature review and topic analysis and selects indexing words. This standard is applicable to document retrieval systems with standardized subject language and controlled indexing, and can also be used as a reference for subject indexing in computer-aided subject indexing and network information retrieval systems.
