Scope: This standard specifies the test methods for passenger elevators and freight elevators and components. This standard is applicable to electric-driven traction elevators with a rated speed not greater than 6.0 m/s and electric-driven mandatory passenger elevators and cargo elevators with a rated speed not greater than 0.63 m/s. For electric drive traction type passenger elevators and cargo elevators with rated speed greater than 6.0 m/s, this standard can be referred to, and the inapplicable part shall be determined through negotiation between the manufacturer and the customer. This standard does not apply to hydraulic lifts, utility lifts and home lifts.
