- This part of GB/T 24405 defines the requirements for service providers to deliver managed services of acceptable quality to their customers. This part can be used for: a) organizations whose services will be tendered; b) organizations that require a consistent methodology for all service providers in the supply chain; c) service providers who want to benchmark IT service management; d) independent Basis for evaluation; e) organization that needs to demonstrate its ability to provide services that meet customer requirements; f) organization that intends to improve service through the effective application of processes to monitor and improve service quality. This section specifies some closely related service management processes, as shown in Figure 1. (Figure 1 omitted) The relationship between these processes depends on the application within the organization and is usually too complex to be modeled, therefore, the relationship between the processes is not represented in the figure. The objectives and controls contained in this section are not exhaustive, and an organization may consider additional objectives and controls to meet its specific business needs. The business relationship between the service provider and the enterprise essentially determines how the requirements in this section are implemented to meet the overall objectives. As a process-based standard, this section is not intended for product evaluation. However, organizations developing service management tools, products and systems can use this section and the rules of practice to help them develop tools, products and systems that support best practice service management.
