This standard applies to synthetic organic ion exchange and polymer adsorption resins used in aqueous
systems.
It specifies the conditions for treating a given quantity of ion exchange or polymer adsorption resin with
deionized water in a specified recycling apparatus. The recycled water obtained in this way is used for further
analyses, in particular for testing compliance with the Empfehlung XXIV: Ionenaustauscher und sorptiv
wirkende Polymere (Recommendation XXIV: Ion exchangers and polymer adsorption resins) issued by the
Bundesgesundheitsamt (German Federal Health Board) [1].
