This Part of this Standard covers safety and performance requirements for devices which generate repetitive (periodic) short-duration high-voltage impulses by means of which fence lines may be electrified for the purpose of enclosing livestock. It applies to energizers intended to operate from an a.c. electric power distribution system (supply mains) shared with other loads, having a nominal operating voltage within the low voltage range (that is, between 32 V a.c. and 250 V).
