- This standard specifies the size, shape and allowable deviation, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marks and quality certificates of carbon steel wires for optical cable reinforcement. This standard applies to galvanized and phosphated round carbon steel wires (hereinafter referred to as steel wires) for similar purposes such as strength members for optical fiber cables.
