Scope
This standard describes defects that generally occur in the inspection of woven fabrics. This standard is used to define the defects of woven fabrics, that is, some appearance features that are not intentionally generated on woven fabrics. These appearance characteristics do not necessarily mean that the fabric is sub-par. The buyer and the seller need to agree on whether a certain appearance is recognized as a defect. If both parties believe that there is a defect, they need to reach an agreement on the allowable range of the defect under the premise of considering the end use of the product. This standard covers the following categories of defects: - yarn defects in woven fabrics; - weft defects; - warp defects; - dyeing, printing and finishing defects; - selvedge or selvedge-related defects; - general defects.
