Scope: This standard specifies the method for determining the dominant wavelength and excitatory purity of paper and paperboard by the diffuse reflectance method of eliminating gloss. This standard applies to paper and paperboard to which no fluorescent dyes or pigments have been added. When the amount of ultraviolet radiation irradiated on the sample by the light source of the instrument is adjusted to be consistent with the fluorescence reference standard provided by the authorized laboratory specified in GB/T 7973 under the condition of CIE illuminant D65, this standard can be used to determine whitening paper and cardboard.
